Paradise—It’s All About Jesus

I just returned from one of the most incredible experiences of my life. It was called Paradise, and was probably one of the most unique and inspiring spiritual events ever to happen on American soil.

The vision for Paradise began about two years ago when Richard Ross, a youth leader in the Southern Baptist Convention, began waking up early in the morning and seeing in his mind’s eye thousands of young people gathered in the center of the nation gazing on and worshipping the glory and beauty of Jesus alone. In his “vision” Richard realized that there were no worship bands in the picture, no speakers, no celebrities—just the foundation of a throne and total concentration on worshipping the King of kings and Lord of lords in his Majestic Glory. What God seemed to be saying was that the American Church and its youth needed a clearer vision of who Jesus really was—that he was not just a sentimental mascot--but a Risen and Conquering King who deserved their very lives.
